- School of Communication and Information Technology, Mason Gross School of the Arts, School of Pharmacy and School of Nursing are restricted entirely to exchange students. Computer Science and Computer Engineering, Business, some Lab Sciences courses will require advance notice as many classes are closed to non-Rutgers students (limited disciplines).

- On-campus Housing is now required. Students coming to Rutgers must live on-campus. No exceptions will be made.
- Exchange Students will live in an apartment setting with other international students and some domestic students.
- Most often, Exchange Students are assigned housing in University Center on College Avenue Campus, the heart of Rutgers-New Brunswick.
