- 本校大一/大二/大叁/硕一/硕二(不含博士生)学生。（以报名交换学生甄选时，本校教务处学籍系统上之年级為準）。
- GPA 達3.30分以上。
- TOEFL iBT 80 (不接受 Home Edition)，新制 TOEFL iBT 成績待交換學校確認中 或 IELTS 6.0 (聽 6.0 讀 6.0 寫 6.0 說 6.0)。
- 不接受管理学院、工学院、电机资讯学院、法律学院、生物资源暨农学院兽医学系、医学院、国际学院之学生申请。
- 社会科学院社会工作学系，需符合下列成绩标準：
- TOEFL iBT 103 (不接受 Home Edition) 或 IELTS 7.5 (聽 7.0 讀 7.0 寫 7.0 說 7.0)。

- Students will apply through the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences (starting Spring 2024); however, they will be allowed to take courses in most departments on campus. Exceptions (Restricted Programs) are:
- College of Business (ACCY, BADM, and FIN courses)
- Department of Bioengineering
- Department of Computer Sciences
- Division of General Studies
- Graduate College
- School of Labor and Employment Relations
- College of Law
- School of Information Sciences
- College of Medicine
- Department of Recreation, Sport, and Tourism (online graduate courses only)
- Technology and Information Management Program
- College of Veterinary Medicine
- Any internships, co-op programs, or teaching practicums in local schools.
- Limited Programs: Courses within the following departments/colleges experience high demand. Consequently, you will need to be flexible when choosing courses from these departments:
- Department of Advertising
- Department of Mechanical Science and Engineering
- Architecture (College of Fine & Applied Arts)—limited access to studio classes
- College of Education
- Electrical and Computer Engineering (College of Engineering)
- Department of Journalism
- Kinesiology (College of Applied Health Sciences)—some limitations
- Landscape Architecture (College of Fine & Applied Arts)
- Workload:
- at least 12 credit hours per semester
- for Master's students, they are allowed to take undergraduate courses/subjects/units
- It is possible to take courses from different areas, but it is recommended to stay within the college the student is applying. We determine which academic college the student will be placed in when reviewing the tentative course list in their application. If a student would like to take all ENGR courses, they need to add this to their tentative course list to be added to the ENGR academic college.
- Graduate students will be admitted to the University of Illinois as undergraduates, but they will be able to take advanced undergraduate and graduate-level course work at Illinois.
- Students will be required to attend a mandatory orientation on the Monday of the week prior to the official start of the semester.
