This course offers an in-depth exploration of metagenomic techniques, emphasizing practical laboratory and computational skills. Students will learn the complete workflow, from DNA extraction and library preparation to advanced data analysis. Using environmental DNA (eDNA) samples, participants will process Next-Generation Sequencing (NGS) data, assign taxonomy, and conduct community data analyses. The course also introduces tools like the eDNA Explorer platform for real-world applications in microbial ecology, biodiversity assessments, and environmental monitoring.
